We are thrilled to welcome The Reverend Hamid Kamara as NAAMC’s new Chief Development Officer. A native of North Carolina, Reverend Kamara brings a deep passion for ministry, education, and community empowerment to his new role. Known as a dynamic preacher, conference speaker, and workshop facilitator, he is gifted in teaching with clarity and inspiring spiritual growth across generations.
Reverend Kamara’s academic journey reflects his lifelong commitment to learning and leadership. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Rockingham Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Fayetteville State University, and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a STEM concentration from Concordia University. He recently earned a Certificate as a Strategic Workforce Leader and completed specialized training in Religious Fundraising. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Virginia University of Lynchburg.
Since 2022, Reverend Kamara has served as Senior Pastor of Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church, leading with vision, integrity, and a heart for holistic ministry. He also serves as Faith in Rural Communities Manager at the North Carolina Rural Center, where he helps congregations strengthen their role in community development.
In his new position with NAAMC, Reverend Kamara will guide our development strategy, cultivate partnerships, and help advance our mission of equipping and mobilizing Black and African American missionaries and churches for global impact. His unique blend of pastoral experience, strategic thinking, and commitment to collaboration make him a powerful addition to our leadership team.
Reverend Kamara finds his greatest joy in his children—Asher, Amelia, and Abigail—and lives by Philippians 1:6: “He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
We are deeply thankful for Reverend Kamara’s “yes” to this calling and look forward to the fresh vision, energy, and faith he will bring to the NAAMC family.
