Programs

The existence of NAAMC, its initiatives, and its programming fuels a perpetual renaissance, generating an unmatched spiritual, intellectual, and social value. We integrate research with teaching, the arts with the biblical, and the up-and-comer with the elite.

Our diverse and kinetic community of believers draw inspiration from the Evangelical tradition, sparks dynamic interactions, and produces revelations for African Americans and multi-ethnic congregations seeking to equip and mobilize African Americans for global and local missions.
We are boldly redefining the conventional image of the American missionary and the role of the African American in a changing world that desperately needs their presence.

Neighborhoods & Nations

The National African American Missions Council (NAAMC) has launched its 50 State Initiative called “Neighborhoods and Nations. It is a groundbreaking effort to connect churches and ministries across the United States. This initiative seeks to create regional networking hubs that serve as vibrant centers for recruiting and equipping African American missionaries. By fostering collaboration among diverse communities, the 50 State Initiative aims to build a robust support system that provides resources, training, and opportunities for missionaries to thrive both domestically and globally. Through these regional hubs, NAAMC is not only amplifying the voices of African American missionaries but also strengthening the collective impact of missions work in underserved and unreached areas worldwide.

Table of Brotherhood

In his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. shares, “I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.” NAAMC invites Christian believers across America to join us as we work to fixing the racial divide in the Church.

Teens & Youth in Missions

The Teens and Youth in Missions department at the National African American Missions Council (NAAMC) is dedicated to equipping and inspiring the next generation of missionaries, leaders, and changemakers. Recognizing that youth are vital to the future of missions, the department provides a dynamic platform for African American teens and young adults to explore and engage in global and domestic missions. Through innovative programs, workshops, and hands-on experiences, the department fosters a deep understanding of cross-cultural missions, leadership development, and spiritual growth. This empowers participants to navigate the complexities of serving diverse communities with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and purpose.

The department also places a strong emphasis on mentorship and community building. Seasoned leaders and missionaries guide young participants through their journeys, offering encouragement, resources, and opportunities to connect with peers and role models. Whether it’s through mission trips, youth conferences, or training sessions, the Teens and Youth in Missions department creates an environment where young individuals can discover their callings, build resilience, and make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond. By nurturing a sense of belonging and a commitment to service, the department helps shape future leaders who are equipped to address critical issues and create lasting impact.

Teens in Missions at the National African American Missions Council (NAAMC) is designed to engage, equip, and inspire African American youth ages 13-17 in global and domestic missions. This department plays a pivotal role in fostering spiritual growth, leadership development, and a heart for service among teens, empowering them to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. By providing culturally relevant and age-appropriate training, resources, and opportunities, the department ensures that teens can explore their faith in action while gaining a deeper understanding of missions work.

At the core of the department’s mission is mentorship and experiential learning. Through carefully structured programs, such as mission trips, workshops, and conferences, teens are exposed to the challenges and rewards of cross-cultural missions. Experienced leaders guide participants through these experiences, teaching them the values of teamwork, cultural sensitivity, and servant leadership. The department also emphasizes building resilience and self-confidence, encouraging teens to step outside their comfort zones while remaining grounded in their faith. By equipping young people with the tools to navigate complex social and cultural environments, the Teens in Missions Department not only prepares them for missions work but also instills a lifelong commitment to justice, empathy, and global citizenship.

The Youth in Missions department at the National African American Missions Council (NAAMC) focuses on introducing children ages 9 to 12 to the world of missions through age-appropriate, engaging, and impactful experiences. This department serves as a foundation for nurturing a lifelong passion for service, cultural understanding, and spiritual growth. Through creative programming, interactive activities, and mission-focused projects, children are encouraged to explore their unique gifts and learn how they can contribute to the global mission field. By fostering a sense of curiosity and empathy, the department helps young participants understand the importance of serving others while building a solid spiritual foundation.

Central to the Youth in Missions department is its emphasis on education and mentorship. Children engage in hands-on learning opportunities that highlight cultural diversity, community service, and leadership. Guided by experienced mentors and educators, participants are introduced to the core principles of missions in ways that are both accessible and inspiring. The department also encourages collaboration and teamwork, helping children develop interpersonal skills and a sense of community. Through mission simulations, storytelling, and service projects, the Youth in Missions department lays the groundwork for cultivating a heart for missions in the next generation. This department not only shapes young minds but also empowers them to envision a future where they can play an active role in making a positive impact on the world.

The Children in Missions department at the National African American Missions Council (NAAMC) is a foundational program designed to introduce children aged 5-8 to the principles of missions, service, and cultural awareness in a way that is engaging, age-appropriate, and meaningful. This department seeks to spark a sense of wonder and compassion in young minds through storytelling, interactive activities, and creative expressions. By incorporating elements such as biblical teachings, cultural exploration, and practical ways to serve, the program encourages children to see themselves as active participants in God’s global mission.

At its core, the Children in Missions department prioritizes cultivating curiosity and empathy. Through hands-on projects, play-based learning, and interactive lessons, children are introduced to diverse cultures, languages, and traditions, fostering an early appreciation for the beauty of global diversity. Guided by experienced leaders and educators, the department creates a nurturing environment where children feel empowered to ask questions, explore their faith, and develop a heart for serving others.

In addition to educational and spiritual development, the department emphasizes collaboration and community. Through group activities, children build friendships and learn the importance of teamwork in making a positive impact. By laying this strong foundation, the Children in Missions department not only plants the seeds for a lifelong commitment to service but also equips young participants with the tools to grow into compassionate and mission-minded individuals.
